Despicable Me Minion Free Crochet Pattern!!

Despicable Me is such a cute movie!!  Gru, the main character reminds me of my dad, the oldest little girl is just like my sister and I remind myself of the other two little girls (yes, both of them :]).  The little minions in this movie are super cute and have awesome personalities.  So.... If you haven't seen the movie, do it!  Then you can make your own army of adorable minions!

Assembly of goggles- Cut out a circle of white felt that fills in the gap of the grey goggle.  Cut out a small, pupil-like black circle and glue this to the white circle.  Glue or sew the white circle to the grey yarn goggle you crocheted.  Stitch black strap around head (with both ends in the front.  The grey goggle will connect these two ends) and then stitch the goggle to the very front of the head.

Adjustments
~Cut out a tiny mouth and glue it to face in the desired position.
~Sew buttons to the front top corner of overall flaps
~Optional- Using a few pieces of yarn, add hair to the top of his head

Enjoy!!  Please feel free to leave any questions or comments, and I LOVE to see your pictures. :)

  1. Wow, I love your blog! I'm following right away. I have a blog of my own crochet patterns, and I think it's great that you share your patterns too. I also made a pattern of a minion, and can you recognise this: ever since I started crocheting, I watch cartoons with new eyes ;). I like your 'smurf' patterns too. We just saw the movie last week and I was already designing in my head..

  3. @ Bri: I'm glad you like him! Since I don't know which abbreviations specifically you are talking about I will translate them all.
    Rnd means round
    Sc means single crochet
Mc means magic circle (sometimes called magic loop)
    Inc means increase
    Dec means decrease
    Ch means chain
    Sl st means slip stitch
If you have questions about how to do any of these, feel free to ask. :) Good luck!

  6. The pattern is great! I had to do the overalls twice because the first time around I thought I screwed up when I had 32 total stitches after rows 4-9. The count should actually be 32, not 24 as listed. Otherwise, it works great!
